Section 1 - Summary of Privacy Policy and Data Handling
It's very simple. The data collected and stored by MoneyForMyData.com is your data, provided by you and it will be vigorously protected. You have property rights in your data and you will determine how it is used. Your information is stored in a secure database, to which you have access for review or updates. In addition, the website follows the Federal Trade Commission five principles of privacy. MoneyForMyData also follows the requirements and recommendations of the European Union Directive on privacy and data security. MoneyForMyData.com is committed to protecting your privacy and to developing technology that gives you the most powerful and secure online experience. Sometimes we do need information to provide services that you request, and the general procedures explain data collection and use in those situations.
Collecting your Personal Information
The primary data collection method is the presentation of periodic surveys to members. Offering data by answering survey questions is not mandatory for membership, but the benefits of data ownership and compensation for this data extends only to those questions answered.
We will give you the chance to opt in or out for each piece of information we receive from you. Generally, this information is requested when you are asked to register and to respond to consumer surveys, request information via e-mail, join a limited-access affiliated website, or when purchasing and registering your membership or products you may purchase from our website.
During registration the service assigns a personal identification number and sends it to your computer in the form of a small text file, called a "cookie." The use of this cookie allows you to use our services in the future without having to type in all your information. We do not transfer any information or allow any information to be transferred between websites or to be transmitted to clients of our marketing data products without your express agreement and participation in the revenues of such transfers.
Use of your Personal Information
We use your personal information for
seven primary purposes. Other than these, we do not transmit member data
to anyone for any purpose. As your agent, we are not allowed to share
any of your information without your express permission.
Uses may include:
-
To populate the data categories in your secure account. This action occurs when a member answers survey questions; answers are held for transmission onto the database via a secure batching process. This data enables members to evidence ownership of their data.
-
To aggregate the data as requested by you into marketing products similar to those of other data brokers that sell your data without your agreement or economic participation.
-
To help us create and deliver content and services to you pursuant to the agreement between you and MoneyForMyData.
-
To establish and administer your account with MoneyForMyData. Your profit-sharing is deposited to this account.
-
To make the website easier to use by not making you enter your personal information more than once.
-
To help you locate services or information on our website and alert you to new services.
-
To allow you to purchase any services or products that might be offered.
Agent – Principal Relationship
The relationship between MoneyForMyData and the member in regard to a member's data, identity and information is one of agent-principal. The member expressly appoints the company as his/her general agent to represent the member in the collection, secure storage, aggregation and marketing of all data specific to the member. In return for this appointment and to encourage the continued sharing of member data for this purpose, the company will pay the principal part of the profit for marketing the data's economic value. The primary data collection method is the presentation of periodic surveys to members. Offering data by answering survey questions is not mandatory for membership, but the benefits of data ownership and compensation for marketing this data is based upon the member's participation. Survey questions unanswered do not generate property rights nor monetary returns in such questions. Members who do not participate in half or more of survey questions presented may be subject to having their membership terminated.
Data Security
Data security and backup architectures are mission critical to the collection, maintenance and use of consumer data at MoneyForMyData.com. Legacy system security software and procedures such as RACF, firewalls, off-site storage, redundancy and SSL encryption are utilized. Internal security is established using authentication and security levels and access. Separate server platforms and procedures have been established for development, QA and hosting activities. Data broker clients are thoroughly verified and authenticated
Section 2 - Details on personal information collected and how this is used
This concerns those who are members of MoneyForMyData. Visitors’ policies are also detailed, though minimal information is collected (what information is collected by server logs, specifying cookie uses, pointing to privacy policies of partners, affiliates, and other relevant third parties).
The data at MoneyForMyData is collected using three methods. The primary collection method is by presenting surveys to members, whose answers are written to their personal account (MoneyForMyData database). Secondly, publicly available data may be added to member accounts to build and enhance their participation in MoneyForMyData data products. Finally, data could include the actions of a member while being online in the website. This would include typical use to generate cookies. We do not transfer any information or allow any information to be transferred between websites or to be transmitted to clients of our marketing products without your express agreement and participation in the revenue of such transfers.
Data Controller
The data controller (contact controller here) is the person with the authority and responsibility for managing the member database and access to the individual member record by category and individual data elements. You, as a member of MoneyForMyData, will be in contact with the data controller under the following events: (1) setting up your data record when joining MoneyForMyData; (2) requesting access to your record to view, maintain and update your information; (3) to delete your records and cancel your membership.
In the event you cancel your membership, the data controller will oversee and ensure that your data record is deleted from the main database. The controller will authenticate this deletion and mail a Notice of Deletion to your last known mailing address.
During your membership, the data controller will manage the use of your data in marketing data products offered by MoneyForMyData on your behalf. The controller will also audit the processing of data sales and revenues to ensure the contractual obligations are met and profit-sharing deposits are made to your account.
Any person acting under the authority of the controller or of the processor, including the processor himself, who has access to personal data, must not process them except on instructions from the controller, unless he is required to do so by law.
The controller must implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction or accidental loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure or access, in particular where the processing involves the transmission of data over a network, and against all other unlawful forms of processing. Such measures shall ensure a level of security appropriate to the risks represented by the processing and the nature of the data to be protected. The controller may factor in technology issues and related costs.
If a processor acts on behalf of the controller, either internally or as a vendor, the controller must choose a processor providing sufficient guarantees of technical security and organizational measures governing the processing to be carried out, and must ensure compliance with those measures.
The carrying out of processing by way of a processor must be governed by a contract or service level agreement or other legal act binding the processor to the controller and stipulating in particular that the processor shall act only when and as instructed by the controller.
