How it works

Courts have ruled that individuals have no expectation of financial gain from their data, and thus no ability to stop others from using it. Money For My Data creates this expectation by earning money for its members through sales of data. As we reach a critical mass of people joining us, we can pool data, package it in salable units and market to the vast number of companies seeking such data. Because each member will submit data -- and determine which may or may not be sold -- companies will be marketing to people who have agreed to receive their sales materials.Thus we will offer the first user-permissioned data in the market.

This is more valuable than any data now being "mined."

Importantly, by joining Money For My Data and creating profit expectation, members are establishing property rights that can be proven. This gives you control and economic benefits in your personal information FOR THE FIRST TIME.

As a member -- and membership is always free -- you will periodically be presented with short consumer profile surveys. When you store your answers in our secure databases, you'll also contract with us to be your legally appointed agent for the purpose of collecting and selling your data for typical advertising and marketing uses and sharing the proceeds with you.

You will choose which information you want to add to our marketing products and which you want to keep totally private. That data may still be used by others who are currently collecting and using it. As you build up your data area, your profit-sharing is deposited to your account here and can be transferred to your bank.

In addition, your membership will give you access to exclusive information you've probably never known before - inside info on how credit bureaus work, how to easily repair identity theft events, and the REAL story on a variety of privacy-related topics. One of these is an explosive report on privacy protection - how millions of Americans pay money every month to companies promising identity protection, then take their data and sell it, making even more money that derives solely from THEIR information.

Is this idea feasible? More than that - the consumer data products here will set a new "Gold" standard for such information products.  How? Once sufficient data is held by the data repository of MoneyForMyData, the data products resulting will be superior to any competitor. This projection is based on several factors, each providing competitive advantage over the data that is collected, mined and scraped by these companies, These factors include: 

1. The data is directly offered by the consumer, with a higher authentication value.

2. The data is willingly provided (in return for data ownership and profit sharing).

3. The data will be fresher and more complete via periodic updates.

4. Some data products such as permission emails will be more likely to be current and more closely connected to actual consumer purchasing expectations.

5. Additional data will be possible, such as offering data with added longitudinal elements, enhancing its predictive and historical value.

6. Incentives to support the data, such as profit sharing by the data source, will make the data more attractive
   

My Account  & Surveys

Here you will be able to open your account file at MoneyForMyData and your data records. Profit sharing amounts are deposited to your account quarterly. Remember that, in order for a data element to be considered for profit sharing, you must give permission to utilize that data in the marketing products offered by MoneyForMyData. Under the Terms of Service, you have named us as your agent and directed us to manage and market your consumer and personal information in the same way it is presently marketed by many other U.S. market data companies without your consent or compensation.

MY DATA

This is your entry point to your data record at MoneyForMyData. You can review all the survey answers you've presented and other information about you from third sources that has been discovered and loaded into your record. Survey answers can be updated or removed and permissions changed/updated (Y/N to use for marketing to make money and prove your ownership).

To find your data, choose from the survey category list or the month of the survey to see all the answers given at that time. If you don't know either of these, choose ALL to review every answer you've presented in all surveys.

We/you cannot update third party information because we don't have access to its source. But you will develop property rights in this data to some extent (over time). And if you see incorrect data from these outside sources, you can report this to MoneyForMyData. Over time, we will be searching for solutions to issues with such data.
